Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 or Class 2 vehicles to transport goods to designated locations
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure safety and compliance
- Load and unload cargo with care, especially when handling flatbed deliveries
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and health & safety regulations during deliveries
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs and delivery notes
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays or issues
- Assist with securing loads on flatbeds and other specialized equipment as required
Experience
- A commercial driver with a valid HGV license (Class 1 or Class 2) Age 25+ for insurance.
- Prior delivery driver experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads
- Strong navigation skills and familiarity with Eastbourne routes preferred
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude on the road
