Are you looking for a fast-paced role where you control your own day? OUT PVT LTD is currently recruiting Self-Employed Final Mile Delivery Drivers across the local Hull and Beverley postcode networks. We deliver on behalf of Evri, one of the UK’s largest and most trusted courier networks. Our local territory covers central Hull, Hessle, North Ferriby, Brough, Cottingham, and up to Beverley. (Please note: we do not cover coastal areas like Hornsea or Withernsea). If you are an independent, energetic driver based locally, this is the perfect opportunity.
The Opportunity & Earning Potential
- Competitive Pay: You will earn 70p per parcel.
- Uncapped Earnings: The more efficient you are, the more you earn. Experienced drivers routinely deliver 150–250+ parcels a day.
- Monthly Pay: Your earnings are calculated accurately and paid directly into your bank account on a monthly basis.
Understanding Your Hourly Rate StructureBecause this is a freelance multi-drop role, you are paid per parcel, not per hour. Your equivalent hourly wage depends entirely on how quickly you load and navigate your route. Using the app's optimise number system, drivers significantly increase their drops per hour. You can calculate your estimated hourly return using this easy formula:(Parcels Delivered Per Hour) multiplied by 70p = Your Equivalent Hourly Pay
- Learning Pace (15 parcels per hour): 15 x £0.70 = £10.50 per hour*
- Average Pace (20 parcels per hour): 20 x £0.70 = £14.00 per hour (Exceeds standard UK minimum wage rules)
- Experienced Pace (25+ parcels per hour): 25 x £0.70 = £17.50+ per hour
The faster and more organised you are, the higher your hourly earnings become.
*PLEASE NOTE (Learning Pace Disclaimer): The "Learning Pace" example of 15 parcels per hour is for illustration purposes only to demonstrate how the math works during initial training or route familiarisation. Because this is a genuine freelance, self-employed service agreement, your total hourly return is directly tied to your personal efficiency, vehicle packing speed, and route optimization. Experienced drivers on our network routinely exceed 20 to 25 drops per hour, which clears the standard UK minimum wage equivalent.
Hours & Commitment
We are a thriving 7 days a week business. To meet the massive daily demand of the e-commerce sector, we are looking for dedicated individuals who can commit to working 6 days a week (including weekend rotation).
- Please Note: Due to the nature of final-mile logistics, we cannot provide guaranteed start or finish times. Your day depends entirely on external factors such as daily parcel volumes, morning freight arrival times at the depot, traffic conditions (such as A63 delays or local roadworks), and seasonal weather. Flexibility is essential for this role!
What Does a Courier's Day Look Like?
Being a self-employed courier is dynamic, active, and highly independent. Your daily routine will involve:
- The Morning Collection: Arriving at the Clough Road depot to collect and scan your allocated parcels for the day.
- Route Planning & The Optimise System: Organising your vehicle efficiently right at the depot. Using the app's optimise number system, you will load your van or car sequentially. Packing your vehicle according to these optimised numbers ensures your parcels come out in the exact order of your route, saving massive amounts of time on the road.
- On the Road: Navigating your designated local territory. You will face all weather conditions and varying traffic, requiring safe, defensive driving habits.
- The Final Mile: Delivering smiles to customers. This includes knocking on doors, finding designated "safe places", capturing digital proof of delivery (photos/signatures) via the delivery app, and leaving calling cards if a customer is out.
Flexible Insurance Options
Getting on the road is simple and hassle-free. To do this job, you must have your own standard vehicle insurance (Social, Domestic & Pleasure), plus you have two options for your delivery cover:
- You can source and provide your own independent Hire & Reward (courier) insurance.
- Alternatively, you can be covered by the Evri third-party courier insurance scheme. To qualify for this built-in option, your personal vehicle insurance must be Fully Comprehensive. This scheme then provides third-party liability, alongside fire and theft protection for the parcels while you are out on your route.
Contract & Onboarding
As this is a legitimate freelance opportunity, all successful candidates will be required to sign our standard Self-Employed Service Contract prior to their first delivery day. This agreement formally secures your position with OUT PVT LTD, outlines our service standards, and sets out the terms of your monthly parcel payments.
- Tax & National Insurance: Because you are fully self-employed, you will be solely responsible for declaring your income and managing your own Income Tax and National Insurance contributions through HMRC's Self Assessment system.
What Else You Need to Get Started
Because you are self-employed, you will need to provide your own tools for the trade:
- Your own reliable vehicle with a valid MOT (Large cars, estates, or small/medium vans are ideal for loading at Clough Road).
- A valid UK driving licence (with no more than 6 penalty points).
- A smartphone (iOS or Android) with a good data plan to run the delivery app.
- The physical fitness to handle parcels of various sizes and weights, and get in and out of your vehicle frequently throughout the day.
- A right to work in the UK.
Why Join OUT PVT LTD?
- Full delivery support and onboarding to get you confident with the Clough Road collection process, the scanning app, and the optimise numbering process.
- Local, condensed delivery routes to minimize your fuel spend.
- A supportive management team always at the end of the phone to help you out on the road.
