The Humane Choices Foundation seeks an experienced social media coordinator to
implement and execute the HCF’s social media and audience engagement strategy.
The social media coordinator will work closely with HCF’s social media manager and
other marketing staff members.
Position Overview
We are seeking an organized, proactive, and mission-driven Social Media Coordinator
to join our marketing and communications team. The role will focus on the execution of
our content calendar, copywriting/editing/assembling final posts, scheduling, and
supporting performance tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute and maintain HCF’s master social media calendar based on the strategic
guidelines provided by the Social Media Manager.
● Format and assemble visual assets provided by the graphic design and video
teams into finalized social media posts, including drafting engaging captions,
adding optimized hashtags, and adapting content layouts for specific platforms.
● Utilize scheduling and management tools (metricool, Meta Business Suite,
Fedica) to ensure consistent, timely, and error-free publishing across social
accounts.
● Actively monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, and mentions in a
timely, empathetic, and compassionate tone to build an online community.
● Assist the Social Media Manager by gathering weekly and monthly platform
analytics (reach, engagement, impressions) to help build data-driven
performance reports.
● Stay on top of platform updates, algorithms, and trending formats/audios to
suggest how our existing content series can be optimized.
● Using social media tools to grow HCF’s recognition and status in animal
advocacy, climate, academic, and other relevant communities.
● Implement HCF’s social media strategic plan, identify opportunities for growth,
and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media activities and
campaigns
● Proactively identify and recommend social media opportunities from HCF’s
programs and events and actively collaborate with staff to execute them.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
● Strong passion for animal rights, humane education, or ethical advocacy.
● Proficiency with Canva for content design and layout.
● Excellent writing, storytelling, and communication skills.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including impeccable grammar
and spelling as well as a strong attention to detail
● Experience overseeing content calendars and juggling several social media
assets at once
● Experience with social media management tools (Meta Business Suite, Later,
Buffer, Hootsuite).
● Effective time management skills and a track record of working independently,
meeting deadlines, and taking ownership of social media deliverables
● Background in managing online conversations and building digital communities
among target audience segments.
● Collaborative mindset and ability to work productively with other staff members.
● Experience identifying social media trends, analytics, and providing
evidence-based and data-informed recommendations that boost HCF’s social
media goals.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
● Experience managing social media accounts for a nonprofit organization
engaged in animal advocacy, climate, youth.
