Are you a Registered Mental Health Nurse with experience of working with children and young people with ADHD and neurodevelopmental needs ?
Canterbury CYPMHS is seeking a Band 6 Specialist ADHD Nurse to join our neurodevelopmental pathway on a 0.6 WTE basis. The post holder will support the delivery of ADHD assessment, care coordination, clinical reviews, medication-related monitoring, psychoeducation and post-diagnostic support for children, young people and their families.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to MDT discussions, care planning, risk assessment, safeguarding, school liaison and partnership working with families, GPs, paediatricians, education and social care colleagues.
The successful candidate will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with NMC registration and relevant experience in ADHD, CYPMHS, neurodevelopmental presentations and/or children and young people’s mental health. You will need to demonstrate strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills, good record keeping, and the ability to work autonomously while contributing to a supportive and collaborative team culture.

Working within Canterbury CYPMHS , the post holder will support the delivery of the ADHD pathway, including ADHD assessment support, care coordination, clinical reviews, risk assessment, medication-related monitoring, psychoeducation and post-diagnostic support for children, young people and their families.
The role will involve managing a defined caseload, contributing to MDT discussions, liaising with families, schools, GPs, paediatricians and partner agencies, and supporting safeguarding and care planning processes. The post holder will also contribute to service development, outcome monitoring and the development of ADHD resources for children, young people, parents, carers and professionals.
The post holder will be expected to work autonomously within the CYPMHS governance framework, maintain accurate records, and deliver safe, effective, child-centred and evidence-based care.
