Passenger Assistant
Location: Chinley
Hours: Part Time | Approximately 1.5–2 hours in the morning and 1.5–2 hours in the afternoon | Monday and Thursday (additional days may be available depending on business needs)
Essential Requirements
- Caring, patient and compassionate with a genuine desire to support others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual and able to work split shifts
- Comfortable supporting children and/or vulnerable passengers, including those with additional needs
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexible to work additional days when required
- Previous Passenger Assistant, Care, Support Worker or Customer Service experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
About the Role
We're looking for a friendly and compassionate Passenger Assistant to help ensure our passengers travel safely, comfortably and with confidence.
Working alongside our drivers, you'll provide support to passengers throughout their journey, assisting with boarding and disembarking, promoting safety and delivering an excellent customer experience.
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys helping others and wants to make a positive difference within their local community.
Full Training Provided
No previous Passenger Assistant experience? No problem.
We will provide all the training you need, including:
- MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) awareness
- Safeguarding
- First Aid (where required)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist passengers safely when boarding and leaving the vehicle
- Support passengers with mobility difficulties or additional needs
- Ensure passengers are seated safely and using seatbelts where appropriate
- Provide a friendly, reassuring and professional service throughout each journey
- Respond to passenger queries and provide assistance when needed
- Work closely with drivers to ensure safe and efficient transport
- Maintain accurate records and report any incidents or concerns promptly
- Help maintain a clean, organised and welcoming transport environment
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and company procedures
About You
The ideal candidate will be compassionate, dependable and committed to providing outstanding care and support.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience as a Passenger Assistant, Support Worker, Care Assistant or in another customer-facing role (preferred but not essential)
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- A calm, patient and caring approach
- The ability to remain professional in a variety of situations
- Good teamwork skills and the confidence to use your own initiative
- An understanding of safeguarding and passenger safety (training provided where required)

Pay: £12.71 per hour
