Purpose of the role
Novus is a multi-award-winning, AI-powered marketing agency. We build complete marketing machines for our clients — websites, paid advertising, SEO, CRM and lead management, automations, nurture campaigns, review generation, booking systems and local campaigns — so they get ready-to-buy leads and their time back.
The Marketing Assistant is a genuine all-rounder, supporting delivery across all of those disciplines for both Novus and its clients. It is entry-level by design: no one is expected to arrive as an expert. The role needs a marketing mindset and the ambition to learn quickly, with training provided directly by an experienced agency founder.
Key responsibilities
Content and social
● Create content for and manage Novus and client social channels
● Repurpose long-form video and podcast content across YouTube, Shorts, LinkedIn, Meta, blog and email
CRM, automation and nurture
● Build and maintain email, SMS and WhatsApp nurture campaigns in Novus Pro AI (our GoHighLevel-based CRM)
● Day-to-day CRM administration and lead management — keeping data clean and leads moving through the pipeline
Paid, local and offline campaigns
● Support paid advertising campaigns across Google, Bing, Meta and LinkedIn
● Coordinate direct mail, out-of-home and local neighbourhood campaigns
● Support events, webinars and workshops — planning, running and following up
Reporting and AI
● Produce marketing reports and performance analysis, and flag what is and isn’t working
● Work hands-on with AI tools (including Claude) across all of the above
● Utilising AI to create content, including emails, landing pages and other marketing copy
Person specification
Attitude outweighs experience in this role. We would rather train a curious, organised person than hire someone who knows a single tool and stops there.
ESSENTIAL
● A degree — marketing or a related subject preferred, business is absolutely fine
● Local to Nottinghamshire
● A driving licence, or the ability to travel reliably to Edwalton and West Bridgford
● A marketing mindset: curious, organised, and a strong communicator
● Trainable, with clear ambition to learn, develop and grow
DESIRABLE — TELL US WHAT YOU’VE TOUCHED
● CRM platforms — GoHighLevel, HubSpot or similar
● Any website build experience — WordPress or similar
● Social Media and/or Paid Ads management
● AI platforms such as Claude
● AI-curious, with something to show for it: a course, a side project, a personal brand, anything

Please note: because this is a self-employed engagement, there is no paid annual leave and no pension.
Pay: £120.00-£150.00 per day
