The Family Time Worker is essential in aiding children, young people, and their families by organizing, overseeing, and evaluating Family Time sessions. This role is crucial in ensuring these sessions are conducted safely and positively, aligning with the children's care plans to enhance their welfare and emotional well-being.
Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee Family Time sessions involving children, young people, parents, and key family members.

Ensure all sessions adhere to care plans and meet safeguarding standards.

Foster a secure, child-focused environment prioritizing children's welfare.

Offer both emotional and practical support to children and families during sessions.

Organize and manage final farewell Family Time arrangements when necessary.

Objectively observe and document interactions between children and family members.

Compile comprehensive observational reports, assessments, and records after each session.

Assist Social Workers with parenting assessments through evidence collection and reporting.

Prepare court statements and serve as a witness in court proceedings as needed.

Provide written and verbal contributions to review meetings, care planning sessions, and statutory reviews.
Requirements

Experience in working with children, young people, and families in social care, education, family support, or safeguarding settings.

Proficiency in observing, documenting, and reporting on child and family interactions.

Background in supporting vulnerable children and families.

Possession of a Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Children and Young People's Services, Health & Social Care, Family Support, or a related field; or substantial relevant experience in a child and family setting.

Contract Duration: 3 months, with a possibility of extension.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, with potential evening and Saturday shifts.
