Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and versatile Café All Rounder to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing food and beverages, and ensuring the smooth operation of the café. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering a positive experience to customers and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently. Previous experience in a café environment is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an engaging work environment where teamwork, organisation, and attention to detail are highly valued.
CANDIDATES MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK 1 DAY AT WEEKENDS AND HELP COVER COLLEAGUE HOLIDAYS ETC. DUE TO THE NEED FOR FLEXIBILITY THIS ROLE WOULD NOT SUIT THOSE IN FURTHER EDUCATION.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, maintaining high-quality standards.
- Assist with food preparation, ensuring all items meet food safety standards.
- Serve customers in a courteous and professional manner, taking orders accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen spaces.
- Handle cash register operations with basic maths skills for processing payments accurately.
- Restock supplies as needed and ensure stock levels are maintained throughout shifts.
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure hygiene standards are upheld at all times.
- Support team members during busy periods by sharing responsibilities across various roles within the café.
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or familiarity with coffee-making is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of food safety standards is advantageous.
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is desirable.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Strong organisational skills with good time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour to enhance customer satisfaction.
