Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Rigger/Steel Erector to join our on-site team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely installing and dismantling steel structures on-site, ensuring that all work is completed efficiently and to the highest safety standards. This role requires strong physical capability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Previous experience in construction and familiarity with rigging procedures are essential for this position.
Duties
- Erecting steel frameworks and structural components according to technical drawings and specifications
- Rigging and securing steel beams and sections using appropriate lifting equipment
- Operating cranes, hoists, and other lifting devices safely during installation processes
- Conducting safety checks on equipment and work areas before commencing tasks
- Coordinating with team members to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to project timelines
- Assisting in the dismantling of structures upon project completion or as required
- Maintaining clear communication with supervisors and colleagues throughout all phases of work
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction, particularly in steel erection or rigging roles
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, for clear understanding of instructions and safety procedures
- Valid driving licence to facilitate transportation between sites as needed
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working at heights
- Knowledge of rigging techniques, safety protocols, and relevant industry standards
- Ability to work flexibly in various weather conditions and adapt to changing project requirements
