Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in accounting and proficiency in various accounting software. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation. This position offers flexible hours suitable for those looking to balance work with other commitments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records using recognised accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
- Process accounts payable and receivable efficiently and accurately
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded
- Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims
- Prepare financial reports and summaries as required by management
- Support year-end audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and organisational policies
- Collaborate with external accountants or auditors during financial reviews
Requirements
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within a similar industry
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- A recognised qualification in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance is desirable but not essential
