Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, supporting the culinary team to deliver high-quality service. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant operations. Previous kitchen or hotel experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Supporting chefs with organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
- Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and equipment throughout shifts
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures
- Restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times to promote a safe working environment
- Supporting the broader team during busy service periods by performing additional tasks as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary setting is desirable but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food preparation and cooking processes is a plus
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn new skills within the hospitality sector
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, or public holidays as required
