Oasis Alternative Provision is a supportive and inclusive learning environment dedicated to helping children with special educational needs (SEN). We believe that every child has unique potential and deserves a personalised educational experience that nurtures their academic, social, and emotional development and are looking for individuals to add to our growing team, giving individual support to our children.
We are seeking caring, reliable individuals to join our small alternative provision supporting children and young people with additional needs. This is a highly rewarding role focused on wellbeing, personal development, and meaningful daily engagement. We are offering part time hours across Monday to Friday, term time only.
Role Overview
You will work with learners in 1:1 and small-group settings, helping them build life skills, manage emotions, communicate confidently, and follow simple routines.
Key Duties
- Support daily routines, learning tasks, and therapeutic activities
- Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Assist with personal care where needed
- Follow individual support plans and guidance
- Record simple digital notes and observations
- Support transitions and community-based activities
- Work collaboratively with families and professionals
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking candidates who can offer the following:
- Experience supporting children with SEN, additional needs, or behavioural challenges
- A calm, patient approach and confidence in busy or challenging moments
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Basic digital skills for simple reporting and note-taking
- Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification desirable (training may be available)
- Ability to move quickly and keep pace with active learners when required, including light physical activity such as brisk walking or short bursts of running
- Flexibility to provide cover when we have an increase in children in the provision
Hours & Pay
- Part time hours to be discussed
- Term-time only
- £16.50 per hour
