Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Design Engineer to join our engineering team. Your expertise will drive the creation of reliable, efficient, and innovative solutions across the . You will be instrumental in driving forward the continuous development of the Trucksmith Limited product range, as well as upholding a high level of quality for all vehicles we produce.
Responsibilities Include:
- Producing designs and drawings, both physically & electronically that are required, tailored to meet the customers’ requirements
- Liaising with Department Managers & Senior Managers
- To ensure design quality is followed & of an exceptional standard
- Ensure designs are in line with legislation and Bodybuilder guidelines
- Testing procedures
- To be involved with Type Approval & Quality
Job Requirements:
- Working experience of using Solidworks & Auto CAD
- Good attention to detail & high standards of quality
- Experience of working with Solidworks or other CAD software
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice engineering vision, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
- Ability to capture and specify the design requirements and the development needed to deliver successful products and components to meet the customer’s specifications
- Conceptualise new designs and design revisions
- Liaise closely with all departments to fully understand design requirements
- Provide support to production to improve lead times
- Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

Founded in the early 1980's and still family run, Trucksmith has moved with the market place from being a jobbing Coachbuilder to designing, manufacturing and developing the most famous and successful range of 3.5 tonne GVW low floored Lutons in Europe, completing European Whole vehicle Type Approval in early 2013.
Although predominately product driven, Trucksmith still offers a bespoke body shop and the new Utilitarivan range of 3.5 tonne GVW to 12 tone GVW utility bodies.

Schedule:
- Monday – Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm
- Friday 7:30am – 01:00pm
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
