Job Description
United Infrastructure Transmission & Distribution are recruiting for a hybrid/mobile Plant Fitter. This is a full time, permanent position. In this role you would be required to be based at Darlington, County Durham for a minimum of 24 weeks for familiarisation and training. Thereafter you would operate independently. This lead-in period is essential to ensure they are fully aligned with our operational standards and procedures. UK travel is also required in the role.
As a UK wide operation, you will work as part of a team who are responsible for the Planning & Control of Servicing. This will include the day to day repairs of HGV and varied fleet equipment as well as the planned maintenance of Specialised Overhead Line Winching & Tensioning Machinery.
What You Will Do

Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs on specialist OHL plant & Equipment including winches, Puller/tensioners Tractors HGVs and other specialist plant and equipment.

Support mobilisation and demobilisation of plant for OHL projects.

Conduct pre-use inspections, fault finding, and routine servicing of mechanical systems.

Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing in line with manufacturer and company standards.

Ensure all repair work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Maintain accurate service and repair records in compliance with company procedures.

Work on-site to attend breakdowns and perform emergency repairs when required.

Order and fit replacement parts, ensuring cost-effective and timely repairs.

Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

communicate effectively with the workshop team, supervisors, and site managers regarding job progress and issues with plant and equipment.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining a clean and organised working environment.
