Estate Agency Branch Manager / Lister – New Stoke Newington Branch
Location: Initially Wanstead, moving to launch Stoke Newington
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £25,000–£35,000 basic depending on experience, plus commission
Start date: Immediate start available
The opportunity
Durden & Hunt International is an award-winning, independent estate agency operating across London and Essex, with a growing branch network and property coverage in the UK and internationally.
We are preparing to launch our new Stoke Newington branch and are looking for an experienced Branch Manager or proven Lister to help establish and grow the office.
This is an opportunity to play a major part in launching a new branch, building its market presence and developing a long-term career within a growing independent agency.
Our priority is to appoint the right Manager or Lister first. However, we are not restricted to making only one appointment and would also consider an exceptional Assistant Manager or Senior Negotiator with the right North London experience, connections and ability to generate business.
The role
The successful candidate will initially be based at our established Wanstead branch and can start immediately.
Working from Wanstead will provide access to good-quality existing stock, strong fees and an active sales pipeline, allowing you to begin earning commission and hit the ground running while also developing our presence in Stoke Newington and the wider North London market.
Our current intention is to open the Stoke Newington branch by January 2027. However, if we appoint the right person and build sufficient momentum, we would be prepared to open sooner.
This is not a position where valuations will simply be handed to you. As a new branch launch, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a genuine track record of proactively generating valuations and instructions—not only attending and converting appointments generated by others.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively generating valuations, instructions and new business
- Carrying out market appraisals and winning instructions
- Building relationships with homeowners, buyers and local contacts
- Developing Durden & Hunt’s profile throughout Stoke Newington and North London
- Prospecting, canvassing and following up existing and new opportunities
- Maintaining an excellent understanding of local stock, pricing and competitors
- Listing and marketing properties to a consistently high standard
- Negotiating offers and progressing sales
- Delivering excellent service and developing repeat and referral business
- Supporting the recruitment and development of the Stoke Newington team
- Taking ownership of the branch’s performance as it becomes established
- Generating opportunities for lettings, mortgages and conveyancing
Essential experience
You must be able to demonstrate:
- Previous estate agency experience within the North London market
- Strong knowledge of Stoke Newington and the surrounding areas
- A proven ability to self-generate valuations and instructions
- Existing relationships or meaningful connections within the local market
- Strong listing, valuation and instruction-winning ability
- A proactive and commercially minded approach
- The ability to build business rather than rely solely on incoming leads
- Excellent communication, negotiation and customer service skills
- Residence within a reasonable commuting distance of both Wanstead and Stoke Newington
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
We will not consider applicants without previous North London estate agency experience and genuine knowledge of the local area.
These figures are a guide and will depend on the level of the appointment and the candidate’s experience. We are prepared to move upwards on salary and title for an exceptional individual, so we encourage strong candidates to apply even if their current package falls outside these ranges.
