Position: Nursery Assistant
Pay: £13.01 per hour (£25,707.76 per annum)
Location: Muddy Puddles Nursery, Norwich
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours per week: 38 hours per week
Work Pattern: worked part time as part of a rota, up to 4 days per week over 52 weeks of the year

Muddy Puddles Nursery is looking for a caring and reliable Nursery Assistant to join our friendly team, supporting children aged 3 months to 5 years.
About The Role
As a Nursery Assistant, you will work closely with qualified Nursery Practitioners and Room Leaders to help deliver a high-quality early years provision that puts childrens wellbeing, learning and development at the heart of everything we do.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, is keen to learn, and would like to gain hands-on experience while working towards a childcare qualification.

What Youll Be Doing
- Supporting the delivery of engaging, play-based activities in line with the EYFS framework
- Helping to create a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment for children and families
- Providing close supervision during play, mealtimes and rest periods
- Assisting with daily care routines including hygiene, toileting and mealtimes
- Supporting practitioners with observations and simple record keeping
- Building positive relationships with parents/carers through friendly, professional communication
- Promoting positive behaviour, inclusion and respect for diversity
- Ensuring high standards of hygiene, health and safety across the nursery
- Working as part of a committed team to support the smooth running of the nursery
What Were Looking For
You dont need to be qualified already were looking for the right attitude and values.
Essential:
- A genuine passion for working with children
- A caring, patient and calm approach
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team and follow guidance
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Willingness to work towards a childcare qualification
- Reliable, punctual and professional
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience with children (nursery, babysitting, volunteering, etc.)
- Basic understanding of child development
- Knowledge of the EYFS
- Paediatric First Aid or Food Hygiene training
