Requirements
- Must have good spoken and written English - ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Hold a valid SIA licence
- Previous experience in security (preferred but not essential)
- Good observation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual and professional at all times
- Flexible availability - including nights, weekends and working away

Roles and Responsibilities
- Protecting people and property
- Safeguarding clients, staff, visitors and the general public
- Prevent theft, damage, or unauthorised access to property
- provide a visible deterrent against crime and anti-social behaviour
Access Control
- Monitor entrances and exits to ensure only authorised persons gain entry
- Check identification, passes, or tickets where required
- Enforce visitor sign-in/out procedures
Patrolling Duties
- Conduct regular internal and external patrols of premises
- Identify and report hazards - fire risks, leaks or security breaches
- Challenge suspicious behaviour appropriately and safely
Incident Response
- Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations
- De-escalate conflicts using communication and conflict management skills
- Call emergency services when required and assist them on arrival
- Complete accurate incident and occurrence reports
Customer Service
- Act as the first point of contact for staff, clients and visitors
- Provide directions, assistance, and reassurance when required
- Maintain a professional, approachable, and respectful manner at all times
Surveillance and Monitoring
- Operate CCTV and other security systems in line with Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR
- Maintain vigilance and report suspicious activity
- Ensure security equipment (radios, cameras, alarms) is functional
Compliance and Legal Duties
- Work within the boundaries of the Private Sector Industry Act 2001
- Comply with company policies, client site instructions and SIA standards
- Protect confidential information and respect client data
- Uphold health and safety requirements on all sites
Record Keeping
- Complete daily occurrences logs, visitor registers and key control records
- Submit written reports for incidents, accidents or breaches of security
- Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes
Professional Conduct
- To wear full uniform and carry a valid SIA licence while on duty
- Remain alert, punctual and fit for work at all times
- Avoid misconduct, misuse of authority or breach of client trust
