Help us shape the complete guest experience at The Alan. We are a design-led boutique hotel in the heart of Manchester where great service means being a true hospitality all-rounder.
As a Guest Service Assistant, you will be the heartbeat of our space. You will float across our Reception desk, Food & Beverage spaces, and Meetings & Events areas. This is a hands-on team member role that gives you a complete, inside look at how a hotel runs, offering unmatched variety and amazing opportunities to grow your hospitality career.
What We'll Do Together
No two days are the same here. You will work side-by-side with a supportive team to:

Float between departments, shifting between welcoming guests at reception, serving in food & beverage, and helping set up lively meetings and events.

Look after our guests from arrival to departure, making sure their stay, meal, or event runs completely smoothly.

Team up with everyone, collaborating closely with kitchen and housekeeping crews to sync room readiness and food timings.

Keep things running smoothly by using our front desk systems (Opera PMS) and restaurant till tools (POS).

Turn challenges into wins, handling guest queries on the spot with a proactive, helpful attitude.

Keep learning, picking up skills in service standards, food hygiene, and event delivery alongside your teammates.
What You Bring to the Team
We value a great attitude and a love for teamwork above all else. We are looking for someone who:

Has hospitality experience: You have a background in hotels, reception, or food & beverage, and love the buzz of these environments.

Is a tech-friendly teammate: You feel confident using (or quickly learning) Opera PMS and restaurant POS platforms.

Knows the basics: You have a good understanding of food safety standards, bar operations, and restaurant service flows.

Stays cool under pressure: You thrive in fast-paced environments, stay calm when it gets busy, and can multi-task with a smile.

Has a team-first mindset: You are proactive, flexible, and always ready to muck in and help your colleagues.
