Coia's Cafe is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Pizza Chef / Chef to join our busy kitchen team on Duke Street. We are looking for someone with experience in both pizza preparation and general kitchen cooking who takes pride in producing high-quality food and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, stretch, top, and cook fresh pizzas to a consistently high standard.
- Prepare and cook oven-baked dishes, including lasagne, macaroni cheese, and other pasta dishes.
- Prepare and cook starters and side dishes according to our recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and presented to a high standard.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and comply with all HACCP and health & safety procedures.
- Keep the pizza station and kitchen clean, organised, and fully stocked.
- Monitor stock levels, rotate stock correctly, and minimise food waste.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Support the wider kitchen team wherever required.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working as both a Pizza Chef and Chef in a busy restaurant or pizzeria.
- Experience preparing pizzas from fresh dough.
- Ability to prepare a variety of Italian dishes, including lasagne, macaroni cheese, starters, and side dishes.
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
- Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
- Reliable, hardworking, and passionate about producing great food.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
