Main Purpose:
To support the day-to-day operation of the Coffee Shop kitchen by preparing and presenting food to a consistently high standard. Contribute to delivering an efficient, safe and well-organised kitchen, ensuring exceptional quality, hygiene and service at all times.
Key Result Areas
1. Kitchen Support & Delivery
- Prepare and cook menu items in line with company standards, recipes and presentation guidelines
- Support the smooth running of the kitchen during service, ensuring timely delivery of food
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front of house teams to ensure an excellent customer experience
- Assist with set-up, service and close-down procedures
2. Food Preparation & Standards
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and portion control
- Follow all food hygiene, safety and allergen procedures at all times
- Complete daily records including cook safe logs, temperature checks and cleaning schedules
- Ensure all ingredients are handled and stored correctly to minimise waste and maintain freshness
- Support with basic food preparation and menu item execution
3. General Kitchen Duties
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant with hygiene regulations
- Assist with stock rotation and storage (FIFO principles)
- Report low stock levels or issues to the Coffee Shop Manager or supervisor
- Support with receiving and checking deliveries as required
- Promote safe and efficient working practices within the kitchen
4. Teamwork & Communication
- Work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues during busy service periods
- Communicate clearly with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Be proactive in identifying issues and supporting solutions
