The Role
As an Assistant Accountant, you'll become an integral member of our Finance team, supporting the Finance Director and helping ensure the smooth running of the department.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Producing monthly Management Accounts, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Nominal Ledger reporting and journal postings
- Monthly financial analysis and reporting
- Accruals and prepayments
- Fixed Asset Register management and depreciation
- VAT and EC Sales reporting
- Budget reporting
- Cash flow forecasting
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Raising Sales Group invoices and carrying out reconciliations
- Producing reports for the Finance Director and Managing Director
- Assisting with ad hoc accounting duties
- Playing a key role in the annual audit process
What We're Looking For
Essential requirements include:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar accounting role
- Advanced Sage 200 experience
- AAT Level 4 Qualified (minimum)
- Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- A positive, flexible and professional attitude
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
