Looking for a housekeeping role with daytime hours and a regular rolling rota?
We’re looking for a reliable and friendly Housekeeper to join the team at Towy Castle Care Home.
Working 8am - 2pm on a 3 days on / 3 days off rota, you’ll help us keep our residents’ home clean, comfortable and welcoming.
We’re looking for someone with previous cleaning or housekeeping experience who takes pride in maintaining high standards and is comfortable working around and interacting with older people.
Experience within a care home, hospital, hotel, school or similar environment would be welcomed, but care home experience isn’t essential.
About the Role
As a Housekeeper, you’ll play an important part in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for everyone who lives and works at Towy Castle.
This isn’t about cleaning an empty building. You’ll be working within our residents’ home, including their bedrooms and personal spaces, and will regularly see and speak to residents throughout your working day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning residents’ bedrooms and bathrooms
- Cleaning communal areas and other areas throughout the home
- Following cleaning schedules and completing required records
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Following infection prevention and control procedures
- Using and storing cleaning products and equipment safely
- Reporting maintenance, safety or housekeeping concerns
- Working respectfully within residents’ personal spaces
- Maintaining residents’ privacy, dignity and confidentiality
- Communicating warmly and appropriately with residents, visitors and colleagues
- Working alongside the wider team to maintain a safe, comfortable and welcoming home

Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience within a care home, hospital, hotel, school, supported-living service or similar environment would be particularly welcomed.
Experience working around older people or people living with dementia would also be an advantage.
Your Hours
This is a permanent, part-time position working 21 hours per week.
Shift: 8:00am–2:00pm
Rota: 3 days on / 3 days off
As this is a rolling rota, your working days will include weekends and bank holidays.
You’ll need to be able to reliably travel to Towy Castle for an 8:00am start, including at weekends.

Location & Travel
Towy Castle Care Home is located near Carmarthen and is within travelling distance of Llanelli, Llandeilo, Ammanford, Cross Hands, Kidwelly, St Clears, Whitland and surrounding areas.
Due to the rural location of the home and limited public transport, applicants must be able to travel reliably to and from Towy Castle for all required shifts.
