Job Overview:
A receptionist plays a crucial role in supporting patients and their families through the healthcare system. This position involves coordinating care, providing guidance, and ensuring that individuals receive the necessary resources and support for their health needs. You will work closely with healthcare providers, patients, and community resources to facilitate a seamless care experience. As we develop this role, you will have increased responsibilities, autonomy, and career progression opportunities as part of our long-term vision for the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient needs and develop personalised care plans to address their health concerns.
- Coordinate appointments, referrals, and follow up care with various healthcare providers.
- Serve as a point of contact for patients, answering questions and providing information about available services.
- Educate patients and families about treatment options, resources, and how to navigate the healthcare system.
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and care plans in compliance with confidentiality regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Advocate for patients to ensure they receive appropriate services and support.
- Listen to patients and ask about their needs, providing information about local health and wellbeing services.
- Manage phone calls, front desk operations, and appointment bookings.
- Process prescriptions and handle various administrative tasks.
- Help patients with online access requests and manage patient records.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Empathetic approach with a genuine desire to help others navigate their healthcare journey.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and community resources is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience in patient care or customer service is ideal.

Working Hours:
This role is (30 hours per week with hours ranging from 8am to 6:30pm daily and extended hours on Mondays (8am to 8pm).
