We are a GP Surgery in Newquay, Cornwall looking for a Health Care Assistant with NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) to undertake delegated nursing, health promotion and administrative duties once assessed as competent under the supervision of a qualified Nurse. Candidates with NVQ Level 3 will also be considered. Expected competencies to include:
- New patient health checks and other health screening
- Urinalysis and preparation of specimens
- Blood tests and phlebotomy
- Long term condition reviews where appropriate
- Patient education and promotion of health and well-being
- Gathering lifestyle data from patients
- Infection control and equipment management
- Vaccination management and clinical stock control
Experience in General Practice desirable however not essential. Training and mentor available. We would expect the ideal candidate to have at least 2 years experience
Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays
No weekend working
The post holder will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures.
