Job Purpose:
To support the business in maintaining adequate levels of materials to support sales and manufacturing demand at the best price obtainable, in accordance with MRP demand and in accordance with all documented procedures and best practice.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- In line with agreed procedures review MRP demand information and place corresponding Purchase Orders and ensure order confirmations are sent and in line with requested timeliness.
- Ensure any required changes to demand or delivery dates are communicated to the relevant internal and external stakeholders and Sage X3 updated appropriately.
- Regular review of safety stocks and MRP parameters in line with changing business needs
- Ensure supplier invoices are approved, and queries are handled in a timely manner.
- Work with internal stakeholders to help identify any opportunities for improvement within the business processes you are involved with, and support any changes that devolve from the improvement opportunities
- Assist with the benchmarking of commodities or landed costs within your portfolio to obtain best value for the business
- Continually review the marketplace for vendors that could support benchmarking opportunities
Requirements
Experience and qualifications
- Demonstrable strong level of IT literacy
- Have utilised ERP systems and have managed MRP outputs
- Previous experience in a Supply Chain, logistics or related function
- Have completed or commenced CIPS qualification (min Level 4) or a similar professional qualification in a related field
Functional Competencies
- Strong grasp of written and spoken English
- Ability to use the Microsoft office suite of products, particularly Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint
- Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
- Confident to discuss issues and clearly express their views
- Experience in presenting Information and concepts to internal and external stakeholders, either One to few or One to many
- Power user of Microsoft office suite or similar
- Experienced in negotiations and negotiation techniques
- Power BI and SQL will be an advantage
- Basic Project management skills
