We are looking for a caring, reliable and motivated Male Support Worker to join our growing team in a Supported Accommodation in Barnet
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will provide personalised support to adults with learning disabilities, enabling them to develop confidence, maintain independence and achieve their personal goals.
No two days are the same. You will build positive relationships with the people you support, encouraging them to make choices, participate in their local community and live as independently as possible.
You will work in partnership with families, health professionals and social care teams to deliver high-quality, outcome-focused support that places each individual at the centre of everything we do.
Your Responsibilities
You will:
- Provide person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity and choice.
- Support individuals with daily living activities, including personal care where required.
- Encourage people to develop life skills such as cooking, budgeting, shopping and maintaining their home.
- Promote social inclusion and reduce isolation through meaningful activities.
- Support individuals to attend medical appointments and communicate with healthcare professionals.
- Administer or prompt medication in accordance with company policies and training.
- Maintain accurate electronic care records and report changes in health or wellbeing promptly.
- Identify and report safeguarding concerns immediately in line with company procedures.
- Work positively with families, advocates and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Promote positive behaviour support and maintain a calm, respectful approach during challenging situations.
- Encourage individuals to make informed decisions and exercise choice while balancing positive risk-taking.

You will ideally have:
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism or complex needs (preferred but not essential).
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- A caring, patient and respectful approach.
- The ability to build trusting relationships.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Good written and spoken English.
- The ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays where required.
- The right to work in the UK.
Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
