We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join Vianet. This is a varied and commercially focused role, responsible for delivering accurate, timely and insightful management information across designated business areas. Working closely with key stakeholders, you’ll provide financial analysis and support to aid decision-making, maintain robust financial controls, and help drive improved business performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Own the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet for designated business unit(s).
· Produce accurate monthly management accounts, meaningful commentary and variance analysis in line with the reporting timetable.
· Prepare annual budgets, forecasts and reforecasts for assigned business areas, challenging assumptions where appropriate.
· Partner with budget holders and commercial/operational teams to improve understanding of financial performance and support effective decisions.
· Analyse revenue, gross margin, operating costs, and relevant financial and operational KPIs.
· Maintain robust balance sheet controls and reconciliations, investigating and resolving issues promptly.
· Support the Senior Management Accountant with half-year and year-end reporting and audit requirements.
· Review pricing proposals, customer contracts and commercial opportunities, highlighting financial implications and escalating significant risks.
· Work closely with Purchase Ledger and Credit Control to maintain ledger integrity and resolve supplier, customer and transaction queries.
· Develop and improve finance processes, controls, reporting and documentation.
There are some essential skills and experience you will need to have:
· Recent UK management accounting experience, including ownership of a full monthly reporting cycle.
· Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and balance sheet control.
· Working knowledge of current accounting standards, including IFRS, and experience supporting audit requirements.
· Sound commercial awareness with experience of pricing, margin or contract analysis.
· Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and analysis of large datasets.
· Experience of ERP/accounting systems; Sage 200 experience is desirable.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Clear communication skills with the ability to explain financial information with non-finance colleagues.
· Well organised and able to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
· Experience improving finance processes, controls or reporting.
