We are currently looking for a caring and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team at The Old Vicarage, a charming 44-bed residential care home in Clay Cross, Chesterfield. This is a bank-hours position, offering flexibility while becoming part of a friendly and dedicated team.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play an important part in ensuring our residents receive nutritious, appetising meals that support their health and wellbeing.You will help maintain high standards of food preparation, hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen organisation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with basic food preparation and meal service
- Preparing ingredients and daily meals
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas
- Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Supporting stock control, stock rotation, and storage procedures
- Ensuring food safety and hygiene regulations are followed at all times
- Helping create a positive dining experience for our residents

- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (essential)
- Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
