Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Service Manager to oversee 16+ supported accommodation services for young people compliant with Ofsted standards and regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality support services, preparing the young people for independent living / adult life, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and leading a team of support staff professionals. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong background in supported accommodation for young people 16+, youth work, or a residential care for young people to make a positive impact on 16+ young peoples lives while fostering a supportive and professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the supported accommodation, ensuring all support services meet Ofsted regulations and quality standards.
- Supervise, mentor and support care staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management to promote professional development.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised support plans tailored to each young person's individual needs, including those requiring additional support.
- Oversee administration processes in accordance with legal and organisational policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for young people, visitors and staff alike.
- Foster positive relationships with young people, their families, and external agencies to promote a holistic support delivery.
- Monitor service quality through audits, young people feedback, and continuously improve initiatives.
- Manage budgets, resources, and staffing rotas effectively to meet service demands while maintaining organisational efficiency.
- Promote a person-centred approach that respects residents’ dignity, independence, and individual preferences.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in 16+ supported accommodation, youth work or residential care with young people.
- Previous management or supervising experience within a 16+ supported accommodation, youth work or residential care with young people.
- Knowledge of support planning processes and support with medication administration protocols.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams effectively.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills to engage with young people, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant qualifications in health or social care (e.g., NVQ Level 3 - 5 in Health & Social Care or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- A commitment to safeguarding principles and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards is essential.
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
