We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fire & Security Surveyor to join our team in Fakenham.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fire & Security professional looking for a varied role with responsibility and the opportunity to use their knowledge and experience.
You will be responsible for carrying out surveys, assessing customer requirements, designing suitable fire alarm systems and preparing quotations and specifications. You will work closely with our customers, engineers and management team.
NO WEEKEND WORK!!
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
Duties
- Carrying out Fire & Security surveys at commercial and domestic premises
- Assessing the requirements and risks of each premises and recommending suitable solutions
- Designing fire detection and fire alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839-1
- Preparing accurate system designs, specifications and quotations for fire, security, CCTV and access.
- Reviewing existing fire alarm and security systems and identifying upgrades, improvements and remedial works
- Liaising directly with customers to understand their requirements and provide professional recommendations
- Working closely with our engineers to ensure proposed systems are practical, achievable and can be installed effectively
- Ensuring designs and specifications meet relevant standards, legislation and company requirements
- Maintaining accurate records of surveys, designs, quotations and associated documentation
- Keeping up to date with relevant industry standards, legislation and developments within the Fire & Security industry
- Ensuring all work is carried out professionally and in accordance with company procedures and health & safety requirements
Key Attributes
- Experienced – Previous experience within the Fire & Security industry, with proven experience in fire alarm system design.
- Technical – Strong technical knowledge and a good understanding of BS 5839-1 and fire alarm system design.
- Strong Communicator – Clear and confident when dealing with customers, engineers and colleagues.
- Organised – Able to manage multiple surveys, quotations and projects while maintaining accurate records.
- Problem Solver – Able to assess requirements and find practical and effective solutions.
- Customer Focused – Professional and approachable, with the ability to understand customer requirements and provide suitable recommendations.
- Self-Motivated – Able to work independently, manage your own workload and take responsibility for getting the job done.

Essential Experience
- Previous experience within the Fire & Security industry
- Proven experience designing fire detection and fire alarm systems
- Good working knowledge of BS 5839-1
- Ability to produce accurate designs, specifications and quotations
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK driving licence

From £40,000 depending on experience and qualifications
