About Us
The Lincoln Imporium is a new retail experience, bringing the legendary tale of the Lincoln Imp to life through handcrafted, one-of-a-kind creations. We’re looking for a passionate, enthusiastic part-time (zero hours contract) team member to join our growing shop and support us in creating a memorable experience for every visitor.
Position Overview
We’re seeking a seasonal Retail Assistant who will support both customer service and outreach (leafletting, etc). This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about what they do, enjoys working with people, and is excited to be part of a unique, growing business with roots in Lincoln’s history. They should be confident in speaking to others, and happy to play the role as an 'Imp Catcher' within our shop.
Your role will be to act as a guide to the shop and local area, not a sales person. You must learn the story of the Lincoln Imp, and the story of our shop and the Order of Imp Catchers (you can find this out via our website) .
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage till operations, handling transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Restock shelves and displays, ensuring products are attractively presented.
- Welcome customers, introduce them to the shop, and share the story of Lincoln’s legendary imps and the lore of the Lincoln Imporium.
- Provide general support with the creation and preparation of stock, assisting in the crafting process as needed.
- Help maintain a clean and organised shop environment.
Position Details:
- Hours: This will be a zero hours contract role, with flexible hours. We envisage there will be between 8 and 16 hours per week (1 to 2 shifts per week - this may increase due to demand). We are currently open 5 days per week and closed Monday and Tuesday (this day is subject to change). During the school holidays we are open 7 days per week.
- Wage: £10.85-12.71 per hour
- Additional: Weekend work is expected. Due to lone working policies, all applicants must be aged 18 and above.

What happens next?
If successful, we will arrange an interview. In advance of this interview, we will send you a script to learn, which is how our Imp Catchers introduce the shop to visitors. Due to the interactive and experiential nature of our shop, it will be structured more like an audition than a traditional Q&A interview.
