Job Overview
Due to demand we are seeking experienced, motivated Gardeners to attend to, and or oversee and coordinate gardening and landscape maintenance activities in line with your experience. The successful candidate/s will either lead or be part of a team delivering consistently high standards of horticultural care, efficient utilisation of tools and equipment, and the delivery of outstanding outdoor environments for our Clients. The role offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate imaginative gardener ideally with leadership skills to personally contribute as part of a team to each garden within your care.
You do need to hold a valid uk driving license to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities DOE
- Ideally Lead and oversee the team, assigning tasks and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion or be an enthusiastic team player.
- Oversee and perform garden and landscape maintenance activities, including but not limited to pruning, planting, mowing, weeding, border cultivation, hedgecutting etc.
- Operation of hand tools, power tools, and ride on mowers safely and effectively.
- Plan and execute garden maintenance services in accordance with client specifications and best practice.
- Maintain records of work completed and materials used and equipment maintenance or servicing schedules.
- Provide guidance and training to colleagues on horticultural techniques and safety procedures.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Interact with clients and or manager to understand requirements and deliver bespoke solutions.
Experience
- Proven experience or background in gardening, horticulture or landscape maintenance.
- Good knowledge of plant care, soil management, pest control, and solid gardening practices.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and other gardening equipment eg Ride on machinery, scarifiers etc.
- Previous experience within a gardening team is preferred but not an absolute necessity.
- Experience of maintaining both shrubs and perennial plant varieties and understanding seasonal planting cycles.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to oversee circa 15 gardens a week in a reliable personable manner. This role is ideal for dedicated gardeners, either with leadership or the potential, who enjoy working outdoors in varied environments while guiding or being part of a team achieving excellence in garden and landscape care.
- PA1 and 6 preferred but not an absolute necessity as training will be offered to the right person.
- You do of course need to be physically fit,reliable, flexible and with good time keeping skills.
