We are looking to recruit a Cook in our Residential Care Home in the Wilnecote area of Tamworth, supporting elderly residents, some of whom have dementia.
Working in a team, you will be required to plan, prepare and serve a nutritious lunch to our residents, including any who have specialist diets i.e. puree, mince and moist (early shift) . You will also be expected to deal with delivery orders, complete all kitchen opening and closing checks, and ensure that the kitchen is cleaned at the end of your shift before handing over to the evening staff.
Previous experience of working in a care home is preferred, and knowledge of specialist diets would be a distinct advantage. You must also be in good health, reliable, have a good work ethic, and a caring and supporting nature to ensure that our residents are treated with respect and their needs are met.
The successful applicant will work 3 to 4 shifts per week (7-3) including alternative weekends . You may also be expected to cover for the other cook during annual leave.
