Join our dynamic team as a Glass Cutter, where you'll play a vital role in transforming raw materials into precise, high-quality glass components. As a Glass Cutter, you'll be responsible for accurately cutting and shaping glass using specialized tools and equipment, ensuring every piece meets strict quality standards. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of stunning glass products for our customers used across various industries
About the Role
The role involves working from optimisations and batches supplied by the Production Office, cutting glass from 4mm to 15mm thick. The successful candidate must be able to break out standard and complex shapes, including intricate designs.
Your hours will be Monday to Thursday 07.00 – 15.00 and 07.00 – 14.00 on Fridays and 22 days holidays plus Bank Holidays. We also have a Health Care Cash Scheme for all our employees and their children.
Main responsibilities
- Work from cutting optimisations and production batches.
- Cut and break out glass ranging from 4mm to 15mm thick.
- Produce standard shapes, complex shapes and intricate designs.
- Check completed glass for accuracy and quality.
- Handle, move and store glass safely.
- Unload glass packs from floatliner deliveries using a crane.
- Follow all health and safety procedures.
- Keep the cutting area clean and organised.
Skills and experience
- Previous glass-cutting experience is essential.
- Ability to work accurately from measurements and production instructions.
- Experience cutting and breaking out standard and complex shapes.
- Valid crane licence and experience unloading glass packs.
- Good attention to detail and awareness of health and safety.
- Reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team.
