We are looking for an experienced and hands-on General Manager to lead our Conwy restaurant, drive performance, develop our team, and ensure the highest operational standards are maintained at all times.
Role Overview
The General Manager will have full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of Alfredo’s Conwy, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, strong financial performance, and an engaged, high-performing team. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is passionate about people, service, and results.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Customer Experience
- Oversee all daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service and high standards.
- Lead by example on the floor during busy service periods.
- Ensure exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally and effectively.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, food safety, and presentation throughout the restaurant.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, develop, and retain a high-performing team.
- Manage rotas to ensure efficient staffing levels and labour cost control.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
- Create a positive, motivated, and accountable working culture.
- Support and coach supervisors and management team members.
Financial Management
- Deliver sales, profitability, and budget targets.
- Monitor labour costs, stock levels, wastage, and controllable expenses.
- Analyse weekly and monthly performance reports.
- Drive sales through local marketing initiatives and community engagement.
- Ensure accurate cash handling, banking, and reporting procedures.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, health and safety, licensing, and employment legislation.
- Maintain company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Ensure all team members are trained and compliant with relevant regulations.
Business Development
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve profitability.
- Work closely with owners to implement business strategies.
- Monitor local competition and market trends.
- Develop initiatives to increase repeat business and customer loyalty.
Candidate RequirementsEssential
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Restaurant Manager, General Manager, or Senior Hospitality Management role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Proven experience managing restaurant financial performance.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Good understanding of food safety and health & safety regulations.
Desirable
- Experience within casual dining or Italian restaurant operations.
- Personal Licence Holder qualification.
- Experience with EPOS systems, stock control, and labour management software.
- Local knowledge of Conwy and the surrounding area.
