Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Multi Trader to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance, repair, and installation tasks across various trades. This role requires a proactive approach, strong technical knowledge, and excellent leadership qualities to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities. The Multi Trader will also supervise junior staff and provide exceptional customer service to internal and external clients.
Duties
- Conduct maintenance, repairs, and installations across electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Operate and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and interpret schematics for system diagnostics.
- Perform welding and other fabrication tasks as required to repair or modify equipment.
- Read and understand technical schematics, diagrams, and manuals to facilitate accurate repairs.
- Supervise and lead a team of technicians or apprentices, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Oversee routine inspections and preventive maintenance programmes to minimise downtime.
- Assist in the training of junior staff on technical procedures and safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client needs promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience with electrical systems, mechanical maintenance, welding, and general trades work.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable supervisory or leadership experience within a trades environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems efficiently.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
- Customer service orientation with a professional attitude towards clients and colleagues alike.
