Halo Domiciliary Care is a growing, CQC-regulated home care provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care across Northampton and the surrounding areas.
We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and confident Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management and continued growth of our domiciliary care service. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional care, leading teams, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the expansion of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operational management of the domiciliary care service.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care in line with CQC Fundamental Standards.
- Carry out client assessments, care plan reviews, risk assessments, and service reviews.
- Conduct spot checks, staff supervisions, competency assessments, and quality audits.
- Lead, motivate, supervise, and support the care team to maintain high standards of care.
- Work closely with the Care Coordinator to ensure effective scheduling, staffing, and service delivery.
- Support recruitment by advertising vacancies, shortlisting candidates, conducting interviews, onboarding, and completing pre-employment checks.
- Deliver staff inductions, mandatory training, refresher training, competency assessments, and ongoing support to ensure staff remain compliant and confident in their roles.
- Identify staff training needs and support continuous professional development.
- Assist with business development by promoting Halo Domiciliary Care within the local community and developing relationships with healthcare professionals, hospitals, GP surgeries, local authorities, and community organisations.
- Support marketing activities, including promoting the service through social media, community events, networking opportunities, and local partnerships to increase brand awareness and attract new clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, ensuring excellent customer service and high levels of client satisfaction.
- Support the growth of the business by identifying opportunities to increase care packages and develop new client referrals.
- Manage complaints, incidents, safeguarding concerns, accidents, and operational issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding legislation, the Care Act, GDPR, and company policies.
- Produce reports, maintain accurate records, and monitor service performance.
- Deputise for the Registered Manager during periods of absence.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of the service.
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Care Manager, Field Care Supervisor, Branch Manager, Care Coordinator, or similar senior role within domiciliary care.
- Excellent knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards and domiciliary care regulations.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience completing assessments, care plans, risk assessments, audits, spot checks, and staff supervisions.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and make operational decisions.
- Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Access to your own vehicle.
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).
- Experience supporting CQC inspections.
- Knowledge of electronic care planning and rostering systems such as RoundSys.

Pay: £30,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
