We’re looking for new people to join the bar team at Scott & Brassey, our busy drinks-led bar on Platform 4 at Carlisle Station.
We’ve got a constantly changing craft beer wall, alongside cask ales, lagers, wines, spirits and more – and with a brand-new cocktail menu coming soon, it’s a great time to join the team.
You definitely don’t need to be a beer expert or already know your way around a cocktail shaker – but if you’re interested in drinks and keen to learn, we’d love to hear from you.
We offer two ways of working:
- Part-time contracted hours with a regular weekly rota.
- Casual team member roles, where available shifts are released through our shift bidding system, allowing you to pick up work when it suits you.
So whether you want regular hours each week or the freedom to work more flexibly, we have options available.
This could be perfect if you:

Applicants aged 16+ are very welcome, and previous bar or hospitality experience isn't essential. If you're friendly, reliable and keen to learn, we'll give you all the training you need.
What you'll be doing:
- Welcoming and looking after our customers.
- Serving drinks and taking payments.
- Getting to know the beers on our craft wall and helping customers find something they'll enjoy.
- Learning and serving our new cocktail range.
- Keeping the bar clean, stocked and ready for service.
- Working as part of a small, friendly team in a busy station environment.
What we're looking for:
- Friendly and confident with people.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Willing to learn.
- An interest in drinks and great customer service.
- Happy working as part of a team.
- Available for a mixture of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
