Locations: Swansea & Baglan, Neath (with potential opportunities in other areas across South West Wales)

Contract Type: Temporary cover contract
Contract Length: Up to 10 weeks per choir (10 x 1.5-hour sessions), depending on cover requirements.
Pay: £120 per completed session covered, inclusive of travel costs.
Important: This is a temporary cover position. Payment will only commence once you begin delivering choir sessions as the cover leader. There is no payment for the application process, training, or time before the contract officially starts.

Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and confident musician to provide temporary choir leader cover for up to 6 established choirs across South West Wales.
You will lead the teaching element of weekly choir sessions, using your piano skills and voice to demonstrate individual harmony parts and guide members through rehearsals.
All required choir materials will be provided, including:
- Arrangements
- Backing tracks
- Scores
- Warm Ups
All administration tasks will continue to be managed by the current choir leader.
You will cover one 1.5-hour session per week per choir location. The exact schedule, number of choirs covered, and start date will depend on your availability and the cover requirements. This will be discussed on application.
The temporary contract may begin at any point between September and December 2026 and will last for up to 10 sessions per choir location.
Due to the nature of temporary cover, some flexibility around start and end dates will be required.
You will be covering established choirs across West Glamorgan, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, and surrounding areas.

Applicants must be confident singers and pianists. These are fundamental requirements of the role, and we can only consider candidates who are able to confidently sing and accompany themselves on piano.
You may be required to provide your own equipment, including:
- Portable keyboard
- PA system
- Head microphone
You will also need to be able to travel to choir locations. Travel should generally be within approximately a 1-hour drive from your home address.
Previous choir-leading experience is preferred but not essential.
Applicants who do not sing and play piano should not apply.

- Each choir session lasts 1.5 hours
- Choirs run Monday–Thursday
- Exact days and times will be discussed during the application process
- Number of choirs assigned will depend on availability and business requirements
- Training will be provided before starting
- Preparation time at home will be required before sessions
- Opportunities may be available to conduct performances outside the regular term schedule for an additional fee
