Qualified Accountant

Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience)

Gray + Press has experienced significant growth and is seeking a motivated Qualified Accountant to join our expanding team. Based near Belfast's Titanic Quarter, our firm offers a supportive and collaborative environment where professional development and career progression are actively encouraged.
This role is ideally suited to an individual with practice experience who enjoys working across accounts preparation and taxation and is looking to further develop their tax knowledge. The firm works closely with scaling businesses, providing support across all stages of growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation / review of corporation tax and personal tax returns
- Assisting / Managing with ad hoc tax projects and compliance work
- Supporting transactional and specialist assignments, including M&A and tax projects where appropriate
- Liaising with clients via telephone, email and face-to-face meetings
- Providing assistance across a range of client engagements and business projects
- Supporting and mentoring junior and part-qualified team members.
- Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing technical guidance.
- Preparing / review of statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients (we do not provide audit services)
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Qualified ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) with experience in an accountancy practice environment
- Strong interest in tax, with a desire to continue developing in these areas and complete their CTA’s.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Organised, proactive and committed to professional development
