Chef de Partie
Hourly rate: £15.20 (casual contract)
Location: Cafes including Walthamstow Wetlands (N17 9NH), Camley Street Natural Park (N1C 4PW), and Woodberry Wetlands (N16 5HQ).
Role & Responsibilities
As our Chef de Partie (CDP), you will support the day-to-day running of the Trust café kitchens, ensuring high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene. Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll contribute to delivering a seasonal, sustainable menu and assists with catering for events across the Trust’s venues. Working as a responsible and customer-focused team member, you'll play a key role in food preparation, service, and maintaining kitchen standards.
Responsibilities will include:

Assist in preparing and delivering a range of hot and cold food items including breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, and specials

Support the Head Chef in menu development by contributing ideas for seasonal dishes and specials

Maintaining quality and quantity control in all aspects of food service.

To understand and fully comply with food hygiene regulations

Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control during service

Prepare ingredients and manage a designated section of the kitchen efficiently

Support ordering, stock rotation, and inventory control to minimise waste

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation across the kitchen

Follow and uphold all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations

Assist with basic food production for events such as working lunches and canapé receptions

Work collaboratively with the wider café team to ensure smooth service

Support training and guidance of junior team members where required

Assist with deliveries and ensure proper storage of all ingredients

Contribute to maintaining a positive and productive kitchen environment

Ensure that all equipment is clean and in good working order

Our ideal Chef de Partie

Proven experience in a café or restaurant environment

Passionate about the hospitality industry and creating high quality food items
-
Possess a strong understanding of food hygiene legislation, and general health and safety responsibilities in a catering environment

Highly organised with the ability to work effectively under pressure

Strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service
