Join Marie Curie’s Wales Community Services team as a Senior Nurse, where you will play a pivotal leadership role in delivering exceptional palliative and end-of-life care across the local community. Based at our hospice in Penarth, this is a community-focused position that offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to patients and their families during some of the most important moments of their lives.
In this rewarding role, you will manage and support a dedicated team of Registered Nurses, Nurse Associates and Healthcare Assistants, while working closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care. You will take responsibility for coordinating clinical services, overseeing care delivery, and providing hands-on clinical support, ensuring care is delivered with compassion, dignity and professionalism.
As a senior member of the team, you will lead staff development, mentor and inspire colleagues, and act as a role model for clinical excellence and best practice. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will help drive continuous improvement and ensure that all care provided reflects Marie Curie’s values, enabling patients and those important to them to receive the support they need, when they need it most.
Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 6 (aligned with AFC) £40,559 - £48,841 pro rata per annum + enhancements
Contract: Permanent – Part-Time - 22.5 hours per week (The service will operate 09:00-17:00 Monday- Friday)
Based: Cardiff and the Vale Hospice as well as out in the community
What we're looking for:

Registered Nurse on NMC Register with a relevant Nursing Degree.

Proven experience in palliative care (hospice/hospital/community).

Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Ability to manage workload and prioritize effectively.
