The Role
You’ll provide hands-on clinical support throughout the patient surgical journey - from pre-op preparation through to recovery and discharge, working directly alongside the surgeon in theatre.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the MaxFax surgeon during cosmetic surgical procedures
- Cannulate and take patient observations pre-, intra-, and post-procedure
- Monitor patients throughout their procedure and recovery, escalating any concerns appropriately and promptly
- Prepare and maintain the surgical theatre, instruments, and equipment to CQC and infection control standards
- Support anaesthetic/sedation procedures as required
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
- Provide patients with clear pre-op and aftercare guidance
- Keep all mandatory training and competencies fully up to date
- Work collaboratively with the wider clinical and admin team
About You
- NMC or HCPC registered (RGN, Paramedic, Respiratory Physiotherapist)
- Experience in acute medicine, surgery, or theatre/operating department settings
- Confident and competent in cannulation, patient observations, and clinical monitoring
- Able to recognise and escalate patient deterioration appropriately
- Up to date with mandatory training (BLS/ILS, safeguarding, infection control, etc.)
- Comfortable working autonomously in a small private clinic setting
- Excellent attention to detail and calm under pressure
- Strong communication skills and a genuinely warm, patient-focused manner
Desirable
- Experience in cosmetic, plastic, or maxillofacial surgery
- ILS/ALS certification
- Venepuncture and ECG competency
- Familiarity with local anaesthetic/sedation protocols
- CQC or private healthcare regulatory awareness
- Aesthetic industry experience - useful but not essential

This opportunity would ideally suit an experienced healthcare professional who is already established in a full-time clinical role and is looking to broaden their experience within cosmetic surgery, while creating an additional stream of income.
Initially, the position will involve approximately 1–4 operating days per month, with the opportunity for this to develop as our surgical service continues to grow.
Operating lists will predominantly take place at weekends, allowing the role to complement an existing clinical career.
It is a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced surgeons in a fully private environment, gain valuable exposure to the evolving field of facial aesthetic surgery, and become part of Hestia’s surgical team at an exciting stage of its growth.
