Glendoick Garden Café is looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic Sous chef to join our friendly team working in our busy café within Glendoick Garden Centre.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist & Support the Head Chef with the day to day running of the kitchen.
- Assisting with the ordering of & close management of stock
- Ensuring all Health & Hygiene procedures are implemented & continually adhered to.
- Assist in the food preparation pre and during service
- Ability to teach new cooking techniques.
- Ensures food leaves the pass timely
- Have the ability to work & train on every section of the cook line.
40-45 hours per week
The ideal candidate will be a team player able to create a positive environment in the kitchen, this is a permanent post with no split shifts! It is purely a daytime role with no evenings required. Hours are worked on a 5 days from 7 rota including weekends.
The position is available for an immediate start.
Public transport to Glendoick is limited, ideally applicants should have access to private transport to ensure they can arrive for work on time for each shift.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 year's experience in a kitchen
- Ideally have a Level 1 Food Hygiene & Safety Certificate but not essential
