The Pakenham Fox is a very traditional free house set in the idyllic village of Pakenham in Suffolk. Privately owned and run without the interference of a big brewery, we are looking for the right personality, or personalities, to join our small team working on the bar and serving on the floor.
We have roles to suit over 16s for Floor shifts, and over 18s for bar work & floor shifts.
With a huge beer garden, bar & eatery, childrens play area, events and much more, the pub really is at the heart of the village. We have a lot of regulars, from the usual village 5 o'clock club, families who visit regularly, cyclists, dog walkers, weddings and so on. We are dog friendly all year round.
The role will primarily be serving customers on the bar, or serving on the floor, we have traditional hand pulls, a huge range of ciders and some craft ales, as well as a gin bar and all the usual things you'd find to support our customers needs. We served traditional pub grub.
We are very keen on anyone joining the business to really become part of the team, so team players welcomed, ideally you will also be fairly outgoing, as there is a lot of customer interaction with regular customers, and we encourage the team to build those relationships.
We are flexible on times, shifts and availability. Some weekend work is required, as well as some evenings, but there is a rolling rota system which can be adapted to suit individuals
The role can be flexed to suit the right individuals, but the core responsibilities are as follows:
- assisting with the preparation and serving of all beverages to customers
- ensuring that the pub, outdoor areas and service areas are clean and tidy
- cleanliness and replenishing of all areas
- maintaining outstanding levels of customer service, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, cash register operations and safe guarding company assets
- coordinate menu or product changes changes
- coordinate the operation of the pub during scheduled shifts
- respond to customer queries and complaints
- meet and greet customers and offer advice about drinks and menu choices
You will have:
· The ability to accurately process information & orders through the Till system with a good standard of numeracy
· Excellent customer service skills
· First class communication skills and demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
· The ability to demonstrate great team work
· Good Standards of Hygiene
· Experience of working in a busy pub or bar
· The ability to follow processes and adhere to procedures
