Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Residential Support Worker to join our Children's Home team. This vital role involves providing high-quality care and support to children and young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development within a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key part in implementing care plans, fostering positive relationships, and promoting the children's overall welfare. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring the emotional and physical needs of children are met effectively.
- Support children with daily activities, including education, leisure, and personal development tasks.
- Foster a safe, caring, and inclusive environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional resilience.
- Assist with behavioural management strategies and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and progress in line with organisational policies.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, social workers, families, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for each child.
- Drive children to appointments or activities as required, ensuring safe transportation at all times.
- Contribute to the development and review of individual care plans to reflect the changing needs of children.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision to continually enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children or young people in a residential or childcare setting.
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive safely and responsibly.
- Knowledge of child safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and completing documentation efficiently.
- Compassionate attitude with excellent organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
