Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Chef de Rang to join our Front of House team. This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility across the Dining Room and Buffet Room, delivering exceptional service to Members and their Guests in line with Club standards and policies.
You will be expected to work collaboratively, maintain the highest presentation standards, and contribute to a professional, respectful, and efficient working environment.
What We Offer
- Salary: £28,500 per year
- 39 hours per week and there may be occasions when you might be asked to work at other times, although if this arises you will be given ample notice.

- Share of the Staff Christmas Fund, which is paid out in December and March, although any payments from the fund are not guaranteed and do not form part of your contract of employment

Key Responsibilities
Dining Room (Coffee Room)
- Deliver courteous, attentive and professional service to Members and Guests at all times
- Work closely with Head Waiting team to ensure consistent delivery of service standards
- Support and guide Commis Waiters, contributing to training and team development
- Carry out mise en place and service duties across breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Maintain clear and professional communication with kitchen and colleagues
- Ensure the restaurant is clean, organised and presented to the highest standards (health & safety requirement)
- Anticipate Member needs and deliver a personalised service experience
- Support efficient and seamless service delivery
Buffet Room (Spencer Room)
- Provide efficient and attentive buffet service
- Liaise with the kitchen to ensure availability and timely replenishment of food
- Assist with beverages service in all rooms when required
- Support the setup and breakdown of private events
- Coordinate service with team members and take initiative where needed
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and organisation of all service areas
- Create a warm, welcoming environment for Members and Guests
Working Hours
- 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Straight in Spencer Room Buffet (8 am to 4.15 pm) or split shifts in Coffee Room Restaurant (10.30am to 3pm break 6.45 to 10.30 / 12.30pm to 3.30 break 5.45pm to 10.30)
- Flexibility required in line with operational demands
- Overtime available
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in restaurant service
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to lead and support junior staff
- Excellent attention to detail
- Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards
- Commitment to high standards of hygiene and food safety
- Right to work in the UK
