KKR PEST-A-WAY Full-Time Apprenticeship | Training Provided | RSPH Level 2 Qualification
KKR PEST-A-WAY is a growing, independent pest control company looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Pest Control Technician to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a school leaver or someone looking to begin a long-term career in the pest management industry. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced team, receiving practical, hands-on training while working towards their RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management and developing the skills required to become a fully qualified Pest Control Technician.
About KKR PEST-A-WAYWe provide professional pest management services to both domestic and commercial customers, covering a wide range of properties and environments. Our work includes residential homes, landlords and property management, businesses, commercial premises and other customer sites.
This means our technicians experience a varied working environment, with every day presenting different properties, pest problems and challenges. About the RolePest management is a professional and highly varied industry.
As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced technicians across both our domestic and commercial pest control services, learning how to identify, manage and prevent pest-related problems. The role involves much more than simply treating pests. You will learn how to understand pest behaviour, investigate the causes of infestations, identify harbourage and access points, assess risks and implement appropriate and responsible control measures.
No two days are the same, and you will regularly encounter different properties, customers, pest species and working environments. As your knowledge and experience develop, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out professional pest inspections at domestic and commercial properties
- Attending residential properties, businesses and commercial premises
- Identifying and assessing signs of pest activity
- Learning to identify a wide range of pest species and understand their behaviour
- Locating potential entry points, harbourage areas and environmental factors contributing to pest activity
- Installing, monitoring and maintaining pest control equipment
- Carrying out appropriate pest management treatments
- Monitoring pest activity and assessing the effectiveness of control measures
- Removing pest carcasses and dealing with pest-related issues appropriately
- Completing accurate service reports and maintaining customer records
- Providing professional advice to customers regarding pest prevention
- Working safely and in accordance with industry standards, legislation and company procedures
- Developing professional communication skills when dealing with domestic customers, business owners, site managers and other clients
- Working alongside experienced technicians while progressively developing the ability to undertake work independently
Training & QualificationYour development will be an important part of the role. You will receive structured, practical training from experienced members of the KKR PEST-A-WAY team while working towards the RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management.
This recognised qualification will provide you with an important foundation in pest biology, identification, inspection techniques, control methods, health and safety and professional pest management practices. The aim is to develop you into a competent, knowledgeable and professional pest control technician who can confidently manage both domestic and commercial customer requirements and work to a high industry standard.
A Career in Pest ManagementPest control offers a genuine long-term career for someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving and working in different environments.
You will have the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in areas such as rodent control, insect management, wasp control, proofing and preventative pest management, while gaining experience across both domestic and commercial environments.
Commercial pest management can also involve working within a range of industries and environments, giving you the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of how pest management is applied across different types of businesses and premises.

As KKR PEST-A-WAY is an independent company, you will work closely with the existing team and receive direct support and guidance throughout your training.

Driving Licence & Company VehicleThe role requires regular travel between customer properties and therefore a driving licence is an essential part of progressing into the Pest Control Technician role.
Ideally, candidates will already hold a full UK driving licence. However, we will consider applicants who are committed to working towards obtaining their driving licence during the apprenticeship.
Once appropriately trained and authorised, the successful candidate will be required to operate a company vehicle as part of their role, so the ability and willingness to drive is essential.

Previous pest control experience is not required. Full training will be provided.
