Reporting to the ICT Active Networks Lead, this individual will be working on projects involving ICT network infrastructure and associated services. This will involve participation throughout the full design lifecycle, from supporting bid activities and developing network designs through to implementation, testing, commissioning and client engagement.
As an ICT Network Engineer, the successful candidate will be actively involved in project delivery and will work effectively both independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
The role may occasionally require travel to other UK mainland locations, including overnight stays, and there are opportunities for overseas work.

Developing active network designs, schematics, technical documentation and specifications.

Supporting the design and delivery of enterprise LAN, WAN and WLAN solutions.

Assisting with implementation, migration, testing and commissioning activities.

Producing technical reports, design documentation and installation specifications.

Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal engineering disciplines.

Supporting project delivery activities across all stages of the project lifecycle.

Assisting with business development activities including PQQ and ITT responses.
Technical Competencies
-
Experience of ICT network design and delivery.

Knowledge of enterprise LAN, WAN and WLAN technologies.

Knowledge of routing, switching and network security principles.

Understanding of network monitoring and management systems.

Ability to prepare technical documentation, reports and presentations.

Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Attributes

Cisco, Juniper, Aruba or equivalent certifications.

Defence, Government or Nuclear sector experience.

Knowledge of MoD ICT standards and guidance.

Experience of RIBA stages of design.

Prince2, APM or equivalent qualification.
