Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor, NSR Biller, MTC Specialist, or Commercial Auditor who knows the National Schedule of Rates (NSR) inside out? Looking for an immediate, high-paying contract on a major campus estate in Leeds?
We are urgently recruiting a contract Quantity Surveyor / NSR Biller to take immediate commercial control of a high-volume reactive maintenance framework across Leeds University Campus.
This role is a direct replacement for an external consultant. We need an assertive professional who can hit the ground running, scrutinise contractor claims, and confidently apply NSR task codes to fast-moving day-to-day building maintenance works.
Why Apply for This Quantity Surveyor / Biller Role:
- Premium Day Rate: £350 – £420 per day depending on your depth of schedule knowledge
- Excellent Stability: 6–9 month initial contract with a genuine opportunity to move into a permanent staff position
- Fantastic Location: Located fully on-site at a vibrant, prestigious higher education campus in Leeds
Key Responsibilities:
- NSR Cost Validation: Scrutinise, audit, and certify high-volume contractor applications strictly against NSR / SOR task codes
- Contractor Challenge: Confidently and robustly challenge inflated or incorrect claims from contractors, ensuring absolute value for money on high-volume repairs
- Commercial Management: Track non-productive vs. productive non-NSR time elements, manage variations, and produce campus-specific cost reports
- Operational Alignment: Partner with the live on-site estates and facilities management teams to ensure maintenance works cause zero disruption to academic teaching or student activities
Requirements:
- NSR Framework Expertise: Mandatory. You must be well-versed in the National Schedule of Rates (NSR). (Note: If you have a heavy social housing background utilising the NHF schedule, this experience is highly transferable).
- Reactive Maintenance Background: Your core experience must be in high-volume, day-to-day reactive repairs and facilities maintenance, not just standard construction project packages
- Qualifications: A degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management is preferred but not essential. Practical technical capability and absolute confidence when auditing contractor rates is the top priority
- Availability: Ready for a rapid, initial Microsoft Teams interview followed by an on-site face-to-face meeting
